AN ORDINANCE of the City of Kent, Wash-
ington, amending Section 6 of Ordinance 683.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KENT, WASHINGTON, DO
ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Section 6 of Ordinance No. 683 which reads
as follows:
"GAMBLING. It shall be unlawful for any person
to open, conduct, permit, carry on or operate,
whether as owner, manager, agent, dealer, or
employee and whether for hire or not, any gam-
bling game or games of chance, palyed with cards,
dice, or any other device, or any scheme or de-
vice whereby any money or property or any re-
presentative of either may be bet or wagered
upon any chance or any uncertain or contingent
event."
is hereby amended to read as follows:
"GAMBLING. It shall be unlawful for any person
to open, conduct, permit, carry on or operate,
whether as owner, manager, agent, dealer, or
employee and whether for hire or not, any gam-
bling game or games of chance, played with cards,
dice, or any other device, or any scheme or de-
vice whereby any money or property or any re-
presentative of either may be bet or wagered
upon any chance or any uncertain or contingent
event. Provided, however, that this section
shall not apply to any bona fide charitable or
non-profit organization as defined in Section 2,
sub -section 14 of Chapter 280, Laws of 1971,
First Extraordinary Session, when such organization
is conducting bingo games, raffles or amusement
games in accordance with the requirements, re-
strictions and limitations of said sub -section 14."

Section 2. This Ordinance shall take effect and be in
force five (5) days from and after its passage, approval and pub-
lication, as provided by law.
