ORDINANCE NO.11/1
AN ORDINANCE of the City of Kent, Wash-
ington, providing for the condemnation and
acquisition of certain land in the City of
Kent for the purpose of improving and widening
Gowe Street, a public street in the City of
Kent, and providing for the payment for said
land.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KENT, WASHINGTON, DO
ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. That the City Attorney for the City of Kent
be and he is hereby authorized and directed to purchase and/or
institute and prosecute to determination in the Superior Court of
the State of Washington, in the County of King, and action in the
name of the City of Kent for condemnation and acquisition of the
following described land, situated in the City of Kent, County of
King, State of Washington, for the purpose of the widening and
improving of Gowe Street, a public street in the City of Kent,
to -wit:
PARCEL 1. (Green)
That portion of Lot 7, Block 23, Yesler's
lst Addition to Kent, according to plat
recorded in Volume 5 of Plats, page 64,
in King County, Washington, defined as
follows:
Beginning at the northeast corner of said
lot, being the true point of beginning of
property herein described; thence west along
the north line of said lot 61.99 feet; thence
south parallel with the west line of said
lot, 10 feet; thence in a northeasterly
direction to the True Point of Beginning.
Together with the right to make necessary
cuts and/or fills, whichever may be necessary.
PARCEL 2. (E M M, INC.)
That portion of Lot 7, Block 23, Yeslers'
First Addition to Kent according to plat
recorded in Volume 5 of Plats, page 64,
in King County, Washington, defined as
follows:
Beginning at the northeast corner of said
lot; thence west along the north line of
said lot 61.99 feet to the True Point of
Beginning of property herein described;
thence continuing west along said north
line 61.99 feet to the northwest corner
of said lot; thence south along the west

line of said lot, 20 feet; thence
northeasterly to a point of inter-
section with a line which is 10 feet
south and measured parallel with the
west line of said lot from the true
point of beginning; thence north 10
feet to the True Point of Beginning.
Together with the right to make nec-
essary cuts and/or fills, whichever
may be necessary.
PARCEL 3. (Doll)
That portion of the Southeast quarter
of the Northwest quarter of Section 24,
Township 22 North, Range 4 E. W. M.,
in the town of Kent, King County, Wash-
ington, described as follows:
Commencing at a point on the west line
of Plat of Yesler's First Addition to
the Town of Kent, Washington, as per
plat recorded in Volume 5 of Plats,
page 64, records of King County, 180
feet south of the intersection of said
west line with the south line of Meeker
Avenue; thence south 66 feet to the true
point of beginning; thence continuing
south 66 feet; thence west 82.5 feet;
thence north 66 feet thence east 82.5
feet to the true point of beginning.
PARCEL 4. (Chicago, Milwaukee)
That portion of the SE 1/4 of the NW
1/4 in Section 24, Township 22 North,
Range 4 E., W. M.., in King County, Wash-
ington defined as follows: Beginning
at the NE corner of Lot 7, Block 23,
Yesler's lst Addition to Kent as recorded
in Volume 5 of Plats, Page 64, records of
King County, Washington; thence on a line
in a Southwesterly direction to a point
which lies 20 feet South of the Northwest
corner of said lot in said Addition being
the True Point of Beginning of property
herein described; thence continuing on
said line in said direction 90 feet; thence
on a curve to the right with a radius of
121 feet an arc distance of 90 feet, more
or less to a point of intersection with
a line which said line is parallel with
said Addition running North and South and
180 feet West of said Addition; thence
North along said parallel line to a point
which lies 180 feet South of the South line
of Meeker Street; thence East 180 feet to
the West line of said plat; thence South along
said Plat's West line 86 feet, more or less,
to the True Point of Beginning.

PARCEL 5. (Chicago, Milwaukee)
That portion of the SE 1/4 of the NW
1/4 in Section 24, Township 22 North,
R 4E., W.M., in King County, Washington
defined as follows: Beginning at a point
on the South line of Meeker St. which
lies 180 feet West of the NW corner of
Lot 1, Block 15, Yesler's 1st Addition
to Kent as recorded in Volume 5 of Plats,
Page 64, records of King County, Wash-
ington being the True Point of Beginning
of property herein described; thence West
along said South line 150 feet; thence
South 4 feet; thence in a Southeasterly
direction on a curve to the right (which
center bears due South 138 feet) an arc
distance 64.95 feet; thence on a compound
curve to the right with a radius of 63
feet an arc distance of 69.96 feet to a
point of intersection with a line which
lies 53 feet West of and 73.15 feet South
of said True Point of Beginning; thence
South 84 feet; thence Southeasterly on a curve
to the left with a radius of 121 feet a
distance of 115 feet, more or less to a
point which bears due South from the True
Point of Beginning; thence due North 260
feet, more or less to the True Point of
Beginning.
Section 2. That the acquiring of said land for the
purpose herein mentioned is for a public use and necessity.
Section 3. The payment for the land herein described
to be acquired shall be made from funds provided from the City of
Kent Arterial Street Fund, Forward Thrust Funds and from a local
improvement district to be formed among the owners of properties
benefiting from the project.
Section 4. Nothing in this Ordinance shall be construed
as a waiver by the City of Kent of its right to decline to take
and to pay for said land after the amount of damages has been
ascertained and within the time allowed by law.
_Section 5. This Ordinance shall take effect and be in
force five (5) days from and after its passage, approval and
publication as provided by law.
