r ` AN ORDINANCE of the City of Kent, Wash-
ington, adopting by reference that certain
code known as the "Uniform Building Code -
Volumes I - IV - 1970 Edition"; and providing
for the filing of three copies thereof with
ythe Kent City Clerk.

CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KENT, WASHINGTON, DO
)RDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. There is adopted upon the effective date
of this Ordinance and upon the filing of three copies of the
following described code in the office of Kent City Clerk, that
certain code known as"Volume I of Uniform. Building Code - 1970
Edition; with the exception that the last paragraph of Section
202 (d) which reads as follows:
"No owner or occupant or any other person
having charge, care or control of any building
or premises shall fail or neglect, after proper
demand is made as herein provided, to properly
permit entry therein by the Building Official
or his authorized representative for the purpose
of inspection and examination pursuant to this
Code. Any person violating this subdivision
shall be guilty of a misdemeanor.",
Ls hereby deleted.
Section 2. There is adopted upon the effective date of
this Ordinance and upon the filing of three copies of the following
described code in the office of the Kent City Clerk, that certain
rode known as"Uniform Building Code - Volume II - Uniform Mechanica
ode - 1970 Edition", with the exception that the last paragraph
3f Section 201 (c) which reads as follows:
"No owner or occupant or any other person
having charge, care or control of any building
or premises shall fail or neglect, after proper
demand is made as herein provided, to properly
permit entry therein by the Building Official
or his authorized representative for the purpose
of inspection and examination pursuant to this
Code. Any person violating this subdivision
shall be guilty of a misdemeanor.",
4nd Footnote No. 1, Footnotes to Table No. 5-A, page 44, and
[tem No. (b), Table No. 5-B, page 45, are hereby deleted.

Section H-201 (b) which reads as follows:
"No owner or occupant or any other person

premises shall fail or neglect, after proper
demand is made as herein provided, to properly
permit entry therein by the Building Official or
his authorized representative for the purpose of
inspection and examination pursuant to this Code.
Any person violating this subdivision shall be
guilty of a misdemeanor.",
Ls hereby deleted.
Section 4. There is adopted upon the effective date
of this Ordinance and upon the filing of three copies of the
following described code in the office of Kent City Clerk, that
certain code known as "Uniform Building Code - Volume IV - Dangero
Buildings - 1970 Edition" with the exception that Section 201 (c)
(3) which reads as follows:
"No owner or occupant or any other person
having charge, care or control of any building
or premises shall fail or neglect, after proper
demand is made as herein provided, to properly
permit entry therein by the Building Official
or his authorized representative for the purpose
of inspection and examination pursuant to this
Code. Any person violating this subdivision
shall be guilty of a misdemeanor.",
Ls hereby deleted.

Section 5. Any ordinances previously enacted by the
23 ity Council inconsistent with the provisions of this Ordinance
24 Hare hereby repealed.
25 Section 6. This Ordinance shall take effect and be in
26 force five (5) days from and after its passage, approval and
publication as provided by law.
