0 ORDINANCE NO. (106
AN ORDINANCE of the City of Kent, Wash-
ington, amending Section 2. of Ordinance No.
1592 and adopting by reference the 1970 Edition
of the Fire Prevention Code and 1970--71 Edition
of the National Fire Code.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KENT, WASHINGTON, DO
ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Kent City Ordinance No. 1592, Section 2.,
which reads as follows:
"(a) There is hereby adopted by the city
for the purpose of prescribing regulations
governing conditions hazardous to life and
property from fire or explosion, the 1966
revision of that certain code, known as
"The Fire Prevention Code," recommended by the
American Insurance Association (division VI
6, Service Stations of Article 16, Flammable
and combustible liquids) save and except such
portions as are hereinafter deleted, modified,
or amended by Section 3.12.28, of which re-
vised code not less than three copies have
been and now are filed in the office of the
city clerk, and the same are hereby adopted
and incorporated as fully as if set out at
length herein and from April 30, 1961, the
provisions thereof shall be controlling with-
in the city limits of Kent",
lis hereby amended to read as follows:
"(a) There is hereby adopted by the city
for the purpose of prescribing regulations
governing conditions hazardous to life and
property from fire or explosion, the 1970
revision of that certain code, known as
"The Fire Prevention Code", recommended by
the American Insurance Association and the
National Fire Code, 1970-71, Volumes 1-10,
published by the National Fire Protection
Association, save and except such portions
as are hereinafter deleted, modified, or
amended by Section 3.12.28,of which revised
codes not less than three copies have been
and now are filed in the office of the City
Clerk, and the same are hereby adopted and
incorporated as fully as if set out at length
herein, and from the effective date of this
ordinance, the provisions thereof shall be
controlling within the city limits of Kent."

Section 2. This ordinance shall take effect and be in
force five (5) days from and after its passage, approval and
publication as provided by law.
