10 ORDINANCE NO. 1-705
(J AN ORDINANCE of the City of Kent, Wash-
ington, making it unlawful to be or remain
in a public place while intoxicated and pre-
scribing penalties for violation.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KENT, WASHINGTON, DO
ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Public Intoxication.
It shall be unlawful for any person who is intoxicated
to be or remain in any public place within the corporate limits
of the City of Kent.
Section 2. Penalties.
Every person who violates Section 1. of this Ordinance
shall be liable, on conviction for a first offense, to a penalty
of not more than Ten Dollars ($10.00); for a second offense, to a
penalty of not more than Twenty -Five Dollars ($25.00); and for a
third or subsequent offense, to imprisonment for not more than
thirty (30) days in the City Jail or a fine of not more than One
Hundred Dollars ($100.00) or both such fine and imprisonment.
Section 3. Effective Date.
This Ordinance shall take effect and be in force five
(5) days from and after its passage, approval and publication as
provided by law.
