AN ORDINANCE of the City of Kent, Wash- ington, amending Section 1 of Kent City Ordi- nance No. 1203, establishing legal holidays for the City of Kent employees. THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KENT, WASHINGTON, DO )RDAIN AS FOLLOWS: Sention 1. Section 1 of Kent City Ordinance No. 1203 ich reads as follows: "Ordinance Section 1.26.12. ESTABLISHING LEGAL HOLIDAYS. It is hereby declared to be the policy of the city that the following be established and recognized as legal holidays in each year for employees of the City of Kent, without loss of pay: January lst, February 12, February 22nd, Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day, October 12th, November 11th, December 25th together with a day on which any general election is held through- out the state; and any day designated by public proclamation of the chief executive of the State of Washington as a legal holiday, or as a day of Thanksgiving. (0.1203 sl; July 15, 1963). _s hereby amended to read as follows: " It is hereby declared to be the policy of the city that the following be established and recog- nized as legal holidays in each year for employees of the City of Kent, without loss of pay: the first day of January, commonly called New Year's Day; the 12th day of February, being the anniversary of the birth of Abraham Lincoln; the third Monday of February, being celebrated as the anniversary of the birth of George Washington; the last Monday of May, commonly known as Memorial Day; the fourth day of July, being the anniversary of the Declaration of Independence; the first Monday in September, to be known as Labor Day; the second Monday in October to be known as Columbus Day; the fourth Monday of October, to be known as Veterans Day; the fourth Thursday in November, to be known as Thanksgiving Day and the day immediately following; the twenty- fifth day of December, commonly called Christmas Day; and any day designated by public proclamation of the Chief Executive of the State as a legal holiday. Section 2.
