WHEREAS, it has been determined that the growth of the City of Kent has made the discharging of firearms within the City Limits for purposes of hunting game birds to be dangerous and unsafe. THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KENT, WASHINGTON, DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Section 2 of Ordinance 1006 codified as Kent Ordinance 5.11.08 and enacted December 15, 1968, and which reads as follows: 5.11.08 PERMIT TO SHOOT GAME BIRDS. Any person desiring to shoot game birds within the City Limits of the City of Kent may apply to the City Clerk for a special permit so to do. The application shall be in writing, signed by the applicant, shall state applicant's name, age and address, and contain a legal descrip- tion of the property on which permit to shoot is desired, and the name of the owner thereof. The application shall be"accompanied by the written consent of the owner of said property to said shooting, and by suitable proof that the person signing said consent is the owner of such property. The applicant shall pay to the City at the time of such application a fee of $2.00, which shall not be refunded, whether or not permit is granted. Upon receipt of such application, support- ing data and fee, the City Clerk shall submit the application and supporting data to the police department for approval or disapproval. The police department shall, within five days of submission to it of application, return the same to the City Clerk with its approval or disapproval endorsed thereon. If the applica- tion is approved the City Clerk shall thereupon issue a permit to applicant authorizing him to shoot game birds in the described premises with a shot gun only, for a period of twelve months from the date of permit. Any permit issued under the terms hereof may be cancelled by City, without refund of fee, upon thirty days notice of such cancella- tion mailed to the holder of such permit at his last known place of address. (0.1006 s2--1958) Is hereby repealed. Section 2. The remainder of Ordinance 1006 shall continu and remain in full force and effect as if this repealing action had not been taken. Section 3.
