AN ORDINANCE of the City of Kent, Washington, relating
to appropriation and transfer of funds from the Current Expense
Fund to other funds of the City.
WHEREAS, the City of Kent, by Ordinance No. 1651, did enact and impose
a one—half of one (I%) percent sales and use tax in the City of Kent, and
WHEREAS, the enactment and imposition of said tax was not contemplated
when the 1970 budget for the City was adopted, and
WHEREAS, the City's share of said sales tax, after the costs of
administration have been deducted, will result in revenue for 1970 in excess of
that anticipated in the 1970 budget, and
WHEREAS, it has been determined by the City Council of the City of Kent
that funds should be appropriated and transferred from the Current Expense Fund
to other funds of the City,
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KENT, WASHINGTON, DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. There is hereby appropriated from the Current Expense Fund
the sum of Thirteen Thousand Dollars ($13,000.00) to pay for the following
professional services:
Cost of Selling General
Obligation Bond Issue $4,000.00
Payment to Price, Waterhouse
to Complete Required Account—
ing System $8,000.00
,labor Negotiations $1,000.00
TOTAL $13,000.00
Section 2. There is hereby appropriated from the Current Expense Fund
Ifor transfer to the Parks and Recreation Department Fund the sum of Eight
IlThousand Dollars ($8,000.00) for payment of salaries for part time employees in
lithe City's recreational program for the current year 1970.
Section 3. There is hereby appropriated from the Current Expense Fund
for transfer to the City Administrator's Fund the sum of Four Thousand Dollars
($4,000.00) for payment of the salary of City's general ledger bookkeeper for
the current year 1970.
Section 4. There is hereby appropriated from the Current Expense Fund
for transfer to the City Hall construction Fund the sum of One Hundred Ten
Thousand, One Hundred Four Dollars ($110,104.00) to be allocated as follows:
To Complete City Hall
Construction Contract
$110,104.00
Section 5. This Ordinance shall take effect and be in force five (5)
days after its passage, approval and publication as provided by law.
