ORDINANCE NO.
AN ORDINANCE of the City of Kent, Wash-
ington, establishing a monthly service charge
on delinquent accounts receivable, setting the
rates of said service charge, defining delin-
quent accounts, and exempting bills for furnish-
ing utilities services.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KENT, WASHINGTON, DO
ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. There is hereby imposed upon all delinquent
accounts receivable created subsequent to the effective date of
this ordinance, and not otherwise exempt under the terms of this
ordinance, a monthly service charge of one (1) percent of the
amount of the outstanding account or $.50, whichever is the greater
amount.
Section 2. An account shall be deemed to be delinquent
if not paid within thirty (30) days of the date of billing by the
City.
Section 3. Bills for the furnishing of utilities service:
are hereby declared to be exempt from the operation and effect of
this ordinance.
Section 4. This Ordinance shall take effect and be in
force five (5) days after its passage, approval and publication
as provided by law.
