AN ORDINANCE of the City of Kent, Wash-
ington, providing for the licensing of shuffle-
boards and music machines; providing for a
license fee therefor; prohibiting the transfer
thereof; and providing a penalty for the violation
of said ordinance.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KENT, WASHINGTON, DO
ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. License Required. Every person, partnership,
firm, association or corporation operating within the City any
shuffleboard or music machine shall procure from the City Treasure
a license for each such shuffleboard or music machine. Such
license shall be issued by the City Treasurer upon payment by the
applicant to the City Treasurer of the sum of $10.00 per year
payable in advance for each such shuffleboard or music machine.
Such licenses shall expire on July 31st of each year.
Section 2. Transfer Prohibited. No license issued
under the terms of this Ordinance shall be transferable.
Section 3. Prohibited for Gambling Device. No device
which carries a Federal gambling stamp shall be licensed or auth-
orized under the provisions of this Ordinance or allowed to be
operated within the City limits.
Section 4. Penalty for Violation. Any person, partner-
ship, firm, association or corporation violating any of the pro-
visions of this chapter shall be punishable by a fine of up to
$300.00 or imprisonment in the City Jail for a period of up to
ninety (90) days or by both such fine and imprisonment, and any
shuffleboard or music machine of such violator shall be subject
to confiscation by the Judge of the Kent Department of the Aukeen
District Justice Court for appropriate disposition, and any licens s
issued to such violator under the provisions of this chapter shall
be forthwith void.

Section 5. This Ordinance shall take effect and be in
force five (5) days from and after its passage, approval and
publication as provided by law.
