' AN ORDINANCE relating to creating a Ilk
special fund for donations of money for
civic improvements; providing for its
administration; and establishing require-
ments for authority to draw on said fund.
WHEREAS, the Kent City Council in regular session
February 2, 1970, approved the Mayor's nominees to the City
Arts Commission, and
WHEREAS, it is anticipated that donations of money
and property will be made by private citizens for civic improve-
ment, including but not limited to art objects for the new City
Hall, and
WHEREAS, there is presently no fund in existence to
provide for such donations;
NOW, THEREFORE,
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KENT, WASHINGTON, DO
ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. There is hereby created and the City
Treasurer is hereby directed to establish a special fund to be
known as the "Civic Improvement Fund for the City of Kent".
Section 2. Said fund shall be administered by the
Finance Committee of the City of Kent.
Section 3. Withdrawals from said fund shall be upon
the recommendation of the City Arts Commission, subject to
approval by a majority vote of the City Council sitting in
regular session.
Section 4. This Ordinance shall take effect and be
in force five days from and after its passage, approval and
publication as provided by law.
