AN ORDINANCE relating to planning and
ORDAIN AS
rezoning for land use and development in the

City of Kent, Washington, and rezoning a

portion of certain property originally zoned by

the City of Kent by Ordinance No. 1071, as

WHEREAS, certain land was originally zoned by the City
8
of Kent
by Ordinance No. 1071, as amended, entitled "Zoning
9
Ordinance for the City of Kent, Washington," passed by the City
10
Council
on the 15th day of September, 1960, and
WHEREAS, the effective date of the zoning of said
11
certain
land by said Ordinance No. 1071 and the effective date
12
of said
Ordinance No. 1071, itself, was the 3rd day of October, 1960
13 and
WHEREAS, as required by Ordinance No. 1071, as amended,
14
the City Council, after referral, study by and a public hearing
15 before the Planning Commission of the City of Kent, wherein it
16 was recommended that said land be rezoned from R-1 (Single Family
Residential Zoning District) zone to M-1 (Light Industrial Zoning
17 District) zone, and
18 WHEREAS , it is found that said rezone is in the best
19 interests of the health, welfare and morals of the citizens of
the City of Kent and is consistent with the comprehensive plan of
20
the City of KENT and consistent with good planning, and
21 WHEREAS, thereafter the City Council of the City of Kent
22 did, upon the 5th day of January, 1970, hold a public hearing
on said recommendation insofar as it related to said certain lands,
23
said public hearing being held after proper notice thereof, NOW,
24 THEREFORE,

THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KENT, WASHINGTON, DO
ORDAIN AS
FOLLOWS:

Section 1. The following described land, situated in
27
the City
of Kent, County of King, State of Washington, and
28
presently
zoned as R-1 (Single Family Residential Zoning
District)
zone and more particularly described as follows:

West 1/2, North 1/2, NE 1/4, NW 1/4, of
30
Section 18 Township 22, Range 5, together
with Tract 22 Shinn's Cloverdale Addition
31
and together with that portion of a certain
lane vacated under Ordinance No. 1085.

EXCEPT portions lying within Primary State
VOL � 16 FacE 50
Highway No.5.; EXCEPT portions deeded for

County Road

is hereby rezoned to M-1 (Light Industrial Zoning District) zone.

Section 2. The City engineer of the City of Kent be

and he is hereby authorized and directed to indicate upon the

Comprehensive Planning Map of the City of Kent, or upon an

addendum thereto, the zoning of said property as provided for in

addendum thereto, the copy of said map or addendum shall be filed

with the County Auditor of King County,Ta:ishington, and the City

Cleric of the City of Kent be and she is hereby authorized and
directed to record this Ordinance with,the County, -Auditor of King
