AN ORDINANCE of the City of Kent,
Washington, relating to criminal assault provi-
sions of the Kent Penal Code, amending Section
9.02.28 Kent City Code (Ordinance 1960); and
declaring an emergency therefore.

h �(� THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KENT, WASHINGTON, DOES
ky!I HEREBY ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. KCC 9.02.28 is amended as follows:
9.02.28 SIMPLE ASSAULT. Every person who shall, within

the corporate limits of the City of Kent, commit an assault or an

11assault and battery, -upon another person, not amounting to an
i�
�jassault in the first, ((ef)) second ((degfee)), or third degree,
Inas defined by the laws of the State of Washington, shall be deemed
;guilty of simple assault, a misdemeanor.

Section 2. Any act consistent with the authority and
prior to the effective date of this ordinance is hereby ratified
and confirmed.
Section 3. Effective Date. This ordinance is a public
emergency ordinance and is necessary for the immediate preserva-
tion and protection of the public peace, health and safety, and
shall become effective immediately upon adoption.
