ORDINANCE NO. 22
AN ORDINANCE of the City of Kent, Washing-
ton vacating a portion of Southeast 260th
Street, a certain street within the City Limits
of the City of Kent. _
WHEREAS, a proper application was filed with the City of
Kent for the vacation of a dedicated public street of the City;
and
WHEREAS, the Kent City Council did by resolution fix a
time when said petition would be heard, and said hearing was held,
on proper notice, on Monday, April 2, 1979 at the hour of 8:00
p.m. in the Council Chambers of the City Hall of the City of Kent,
Washington; and
WHEREAS, the Kent Planning Director processed said
petition and secured technical facts pertinent to the question of
said vacation which includes a sketch of the proposed vacation and
also written approval or rejection thereof by the Water, Sewer and
Street Departments of the City of Kent; and
WHEREAS,it appeared that the granting of said petition
would not be a menace or inconvenience to the traveling public or
to any other person using the streets or alleys of the City of
Kent, Washington; and
WHEREAS, the City Council directed the preparation of an
ordinance vacating said street; and
WHEREAS, a further public hearing was held on January 17,
1983, upon proper notice, to determine whether the vacation of
said Southeast 260th Street should be reconsidered; and
WHEREAS, said hearing was continued until March 7, 1983;
and
WHEREAS, following the public hearing the Council
reaffirmed the intent of the Council to vacate Southeast 260th
Street, and directed the preparation of an ordinance to accomplish
said purpose, NOW, THEREFORE

THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KENT WASHINGTON DOES
ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. That portion of Southeast 260th Street within
the City Limits of Kent, Washington and more fully described as
follows:
That portion of Southeast 260th Street lying
between lot 6 and 7 in the Plat of Parsons
Addition to the City of Kent as recorded in
Volume 58 of Plats, Page 22, Records of King
County, Washington.
is hereby vacated, RESERVING, however, an easement for drainage,
and overhead or underground utilities in said portion of Southeast
260th Street.
Section 2. No vested rights shall be affected by the
provisions of this ordinance.
Section 3. Effective Date. This ordinance shall take
effect and be in force five (5) days from and after its passage,
approval and publication as provided by law, and payment of
one-half the appraised value of said property.
