ORDINANCE NO. �7
AN ORDINANCE of the City of Kent,
Washington, relating to underground utilities,
G, amending subsection 7.10.12(4), Ordinance 1695,
of the Kent City Code relating to underground
electrical or communication facilities service
connections.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KENT, WASHINGTON DO
HEREBY ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Subsection 7.10.12(4), Ordinance 1695, of the
Kent City Code is amended as follows:
"Service connections are facilities extending from a
distribution system and terminating on private property
to serve a customer or subscriber. Service connections:
a) Shall be underground, if the distribution system
serving the customer or subscriber is
underground.
b) Shall be underground if the distribution system
serving the customer or subscriber is aerial,
previded by the ► castanuer,

facility to be serviced is new, single-family

c) May be aerial, if the distribution system
serving the customer or subscriber is aerial,

twenty thousand dollars ($20,000) in value.
d) May be aerial, if the distribution system
serving the customer or subscriber is aerial,
and the service request for building, structure
or facility is the result of an addition,
alterations or repair thereto under twenty
thousand dollars ($20,000) in value.
e) Shall be underground, unless otherwise provided
above.
Section 2. EFFECTIVE DATE. This ordinance shall take
effect and be in force five (5) days from and after its passage,
approval and publication as provided by law.
