HomeMy WebLinkAbout2351HLEDAor Record a ! est Cit ORDINANCE NO. 4 AN ORDINANCE of the City of Kent, Washington, annexing to the City certakn lands contiguous thereto commonly referred to as the Russell Road Annexation and re- pealing Ordinance No. 2347. WHEREAS, the City of Kent has acquired certain prop- erty in King County hereinafter described, which property being contiguous to Russell Road and the boundaries of the City of Kent, and WHEREAS, it has been determined that it would be in the best interests of the City to annex said property into the City for municipal purposes, and WHEREAS, in accordance with RCW 35A.14 of the laws of the State of Washington, various proceedings were held, and WHEREAS, Notice of Intention to Annex was filed with the King County Boundary Review Board on February 17, 1982, and WHEREAS, The Board approved such annexation on March 10, 1982, and WHEREAS, RCW 35A.14.300 provides for such annexations by a majority vote of the legislative bodies of code cities, the city of Kent being a cody city, NOW, THEREFORE THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KENT, WASHINGTON, DO HEREBY ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: Section 'l. The following described property in King County Washington: That portion of the north half of the southwest quarter 2-22-4 lying westerly of the easterly margin of Russell Road, easterly of the thread of the Green River and northerly of Kent City Limits as defined in Ordinance 1727 be and hereby is annexed into the City of Kent for municipal purposes. section 2. Within 10 days after the effective date of the annexation referred to in this Ordinance, the City Clerk of the city of Kent shall send to the King County Executive or his designee seven (7) certified copies of this Ordinance to- gether with a copy of a letter from G. Brice Martin, Chief Clerk of the King County Boundary Review Board which letter containes a copy of the decision of the Boundary Review Board relating to the annexation. Section 3. Ordinance 2347 of the City of Kent be and the same hereby is repealed in its entirety. Section 4.
