AN ORDINANCE of the City of Kent, Washing-
ton, prohibiting filing of applications for
Building Permits, Rezones, Conditional Use
Permits and Annexations in that part of the
City lying south of the Green River southernly
to South 277th Street and between the Green
River and the beginning of the West Hill slope;
excluding that portion that is presently zoned
M-2, and setting a time limit on said
prohibition.
WHEREAS, the City Council by Resolution 963 passed at a
regular meeting of April 5, 1982, prohibited filing of
applications for Building Permits, Rezones, Conditional Use
Permits and Annexations for that part of the City lying south of
the Green River southernly to South 277th Street and between the
Green River and the beginning of the West Hill slope; excluding
that portion presently zoned as M-2, illustrated in Exhibit A,
and
WHEREAS, a public hearing was held before the City
Council at a regular meeting of May 3, 1982 to determine whether
the prohibition should be extended for a time certain pending
(completion of a transportation study and surface water study, and
WHEREAS, public testimony was taken and considered by the
Council at the public hearing and it was determined to keep the
prohibition in effect for a period of one year or until completion
and implementation of transportation and surface water studies,
whichever comes first, NOW, THEREFORE,
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KENT DO HEREBY ORDAIN AS
FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The prohibition against filing of
applications for Building Permits, Rezones, Conditional Use
Permits and Annexations in that part of the City lying south of
the Green River, southernly to South 277th Street and between the
Green River and the beginning of the West Hill slope, excluding
that portion presently zoned as M-2, which is described in Exhibit
A attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference be and the
same is hereby continued.
Section 2. The term of the prohibition shall be the
(lessor of one year from the effective date of this Ordinance or
ttie completion and implementation of the transportation and

surface water studies at which time the prohibition shall
terminate unless the Council takes further action to extend the
term of the prohibition beyond the period.
Section 3. This ordinance shall take effect and be in
force five (5) days from and after its passage, approval and
publication as provided by law.
PASSED by the City Council and APPROVED by the Mayor of
the City of Kent, Washington at a regular open public meeting
