AN ORDINANCE of the City of Kent,
Washington, establishing "No Parking Zones"
within the City; and repealing Ordinance 2191
of the City of Kent.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KENT, WASHINGTON, DO
f HEREBY ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. NO PARKING ZONES. At such time as the Traf-
fic Engineer shall place the appropriate sign or signs, it shall
be illegal to park any motor vehicle or other vehicle at any time
on the following roadways or portions thereof:
1. East Valley Highway.(84th Avenue South &
Central Avenue) From the Green River to

South 192nd Street (both sides).
2. Meeker Street.
a) From Fourth Avenue to the West Valley
Highway (both sides).
b) From a point 70 feet west of Russell Road
g to a point 806 feet west of Russell Road
(north side only).

• 3. Smith Street. From South 4th Avenue to Jason
�. Avenue (both sides).
4. Fourth Avenue. From Willis Street to South
228th Street (both sides).

5. Kent-Kangley Road. From SE 256th Street to
a point 460 feet west of 108th Avenue SE

(south side only).
6. East Gowe Street. From a point 230 feet east
of the centerline of State Avenue to East
Titus Street (both sides).
7. SR99 (Pacific Highway South. From a point

1630 feet south of the intersection of South
240th Street to the intersection of South
240th Street (east side only).
8. Pioneer Street. From 170 feet west of the
centerline of State Avenue to the centerline
of State Avenue (south side only).
9. East Titus Street.
a) From East Gowe Street to a point 120 feet
southwest of the centerline of Reiten Road
(southeast side only).
b) From a point 120 feet southwest of the I
centerline of Reiten Road to Smith Street
(both sides)
10. 30th Avenue South. From Kent -Des Moines Road
to South 240th Street (west side only).
11. South 240th Street.
a) From 30th Avenue South to Pacific Highway
South (north side only).

12. 104th Avenue SE (Benson Road or SR 515). From.
a point 100 feet north of the intersection of
SE 236th Place to a point 659 feet south of
the intersection of James Street (South 240t -I'
Street - both sides).
13. West Cloudy Street. From North 4th Avenue to
North 5th Avenue (both sides).
02 z 7 14. Trailer or Semi -trailer parking. Upon any
city street, if the vehicle is a trailer or
semi -trailer, unless the trailer or semi-
trailer is attached to a vehicle by which it
may be propelled or drawn; PROVIDED, that in
case of accident such trailer or semi -trailer
may be moved to the side of the street, and,
if a good and sufficient red signal be dis-
played at both ends thereof during the hours
of darkness, such trailer or semi -trailer may
be permitted or allowed to remain for a perio
not exceeding twenty-four hours pending re-
moval; except that such trailer or semi -trail
er shall not remain upon any portion of a
city street where standing or parking is limi
ted or prohibited for a period longer than is
necessary to effect its removal.
Section 2. COMPLIANCE WITH STATE LAW. The Traffic Engi-
neer is hereby directed to obtain from the Washington State High-
way Commission approval and ratification of any "No Parking Zones
where required to do so by RCW 47.24.020.
Section 3. PENALTY. Any violation of this Ordinance
shall be an infraction and punishable by a monetary penalty of
not more than twenty-five (25) dollars; PROVIDED, HOWEVER, that
for any person not requesting a mitigation hearing or contested

hearing, the penalty shall be five (5) dollars.
Section 4. Ordinance 2191 of the City of Kent is hereby
repealed in its entirety.
Section 5. This Ordinance shall take effect and be in
force five (5) days from and after its passage, approval and pub-
licationas provided by law.
