AN ORDINANCE of the City of Kent,
Washington, vacating a portion of South 238th
Street, a public street in the City of Kent.
WHEREAS a proper application was filed for the vacation
of a portion of a public street in the City of Kent; and
WHEREAS thereafter, the Kent City Council did, by
resolution fix a time when said petition would be heard and deter
mined by the Kent City Council or a committee thereof, to -wit:
Monday, March 17, 1980 at the hour of 8 o'clock p.m. in the
Council Chamber of the City Hall of the City of Kent, Washington;
and
WHEREAS after the passage of said resolution, the City
Clerk of the City of Kent gave twenty (20) days notice of the
pendency of said petition by a written notice posted in three (3)
of the most public places in the City of Kent and a like notice
in conspicuous places on the street sought to be vacated; said
notice containing the information required therein by the Laws of
the State of Washington and the ordinances of the City of Kent;
and
WHEREAS the Kent Planning Director has processed said
petition and secured the technical facts pertinent to the ques-
tion of said vacation which includes a sketch of the proposed
vacation and also written approval or rejection thereof by the
water, sewer and street departments of the City of Kent; and
WHEREAS the hearing on said petition was held in the
Council Chambers of the City Hall of the City of Kent at 8:00
o'clock p.m. on the 17th day of March, 1980, and it appearing
further that the granting of said petition for the vacation of
said street will not be a menace or inconvenience to the traveli
public or to any other persons using the stteets and alleys of
the City of Kent, Washington,

Section 1. The following described street within the
city limits of Kent, Washington, and which is more fully describ
herewith:
Commencing at the intersection of the centerlines
of Washington Street and Morton Street (South
238th Street), according to Meeker's Supplemental
Plat of the First Addition to the Town of Kent,
according to plat recorded in Volume 5 of Plats,
at Page 96, records of King County; thence North
00041'34" East along the centerline of Washington
Street 30 feet to the North right-of-way line of
Morton Street (South 238th Street) extended;
thence South 88038126" East along said extension
of the North right-of-way line of Morton Street,
33 feet to a point on the East right-of-way line
of Washington Street; thence North 00041134" East
along the East right-of-way line of Washington
Street 3.54 feet to the TRUE POINT OF BEGINNING;
thence continuing North 00041'34" East along the
right-of-way line of Washington Street 50.25 feet
to a point on the Northerly right-of-way line of
South 238th Street per records of King County Aud-
itor #7409260487; thence along an arc of a curve
to the left with an initial bearing of South 890
18'26" East, said curve having a central angle of
130118138", a radius of 31.23 feet, through an arc
distance of 71.03 feet; thence leaving said North-
erly right-of-way line of South 238th Street along
an arc of a curve to the right with an initial
bearing of North 40027130" West, said curve having
a central angle of 27051134", a radius of 120.00
feet, through an arc distance of 58.34 feet to
the TRUE POINT OF BEGINNING.
is hereby vacated, reserving, however, any necessary easements
for utilities and storm drainage.
Section 2. No vested rights shall be affected by the
provisions of this Ordinance.
Section 3. This Ordinance shall take effect and be in
force five (5) days from and after its passage, approval and pub-
lication as provided by law. ,
