AN ORDINANCE of the City of Kent,
Washington, relating to crimes; adding new
Section 9.02.106, Kent City Code, relating to
dangerous weapons.
THE CI'T'Y COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KENT, WASHINGTON DOES
HEREBY ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:

Section 1. A new Section 9.02,11�is added to the Kent
City Code as follows:
Section 2. It shall be unlawful for anyone to sell,
manufacture, purchase, possess or carry:
A. Any device commonly known as "nun-chu-ka sticks",
consisting of two or more lengths of wood, metal, plastic, or
similar substance connected with wire, rope, or other means; or
B. Any device commonly known as "throwing stars", which
are multipointed, metal objects designed to embed upon impact from
any aspect in a manner, under circumstances, and at a time and
place that either manifests an intent to intimidate another or
that warrants alarm for the safety of other persons.
Section 3. It shall be unlawful for anyone to
manufacture, sell or dispose of, or have in his possession any
instrument or weapon of the kind usually known as weapon of the
kind in addition to those listed in Section 2 the following
weapons: sling shot, sand club, or metal knuckles or spring blade
knife or any knife the blade of which is automatically released by
a spring mechanism or other mechanical device or any knife having
a blade which opens or falls or is ejected into position by the
(force of gravity or by an outward, downward, or centrifugal thrust
or movement;
Section 4. Anyone who shall furtively carry with intent
to conceal any dagger, dirk, pistol, or other dangerous weapon as
previously outlined, or who shall use any contrivance or device
;for suppressing the noise of any firearm shall be guilty of a
misdemeanor.
Section 5. Effective Date. This ordinance shall take
effect and be in force five (5) days from and after its passage,
