ORDINANCE NO. -731
AN ORDINANCE of the City of Kent,
( Washington, relating to parking restrictions
and penalties for violation of such; adding new

City Code and amending Kent City Code Sections
10.06.150. and 10.06.170.

THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KENT, 4vASHINGTON DOES
HEREBY ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. A new Section 10.06.230 is added to the Kent
;City Code as follows:

10.06.230. THIRTY MINUTE PARKING ZONES. At such times
as the Traffic Engineer shall place the appropriate sign or signs,
it shall be illegal to park any motor or other vehicle for an
uninterrupted period in excess of thirty minutes at the following
locations:
First Avenue:
The
first stall
north of
Meeker Street
on
the west side
of First
Avenue.
First Avenue:
The
first stall
south of
Meeker Street
on
the west side
of First
Avenue.
Second Avenue:
The
first stall
south of
Meeker Street
on
the east side
of Second
Avenue.
Second Avenue:
The
first stall
south of
Meeker Street
on the west side of Second Avenue.
Section 2. A new section 10.06.240 is added to the Kent
City Code as follows:
10.06.240. ONE HOUR PARKING ZONE. At such times as the
Traffic Engineer shall place the appropriate sign or signs, it
shall be illegal to park any motor or other vehicles for an
uninterrupted period in excess of one hour (60 minutes) at the
following location:
George Street: From Central Avenue to State Avenue on
both sides.
Section 3. Section 10.06.150 of the Kent City Code is
amended as follows:
10.06.150. PARKING PROHIBITED FROM FOUR A.M. TO AMJA
11SIX A.M. At such times as the Traffic Engineer shall place the

!appropriate sign or signs, it shall be illegal to park any motor
'jor other vehicles between the hours of four a.m. and seven
isix a.m. except Sundays and holidays, at the following locations:

Meeker Street
B.
Gowe Street
C.
Titus Street
D.
First Avenue
E. Second Avenue
(from Fourth Avenue to State Avenue);
(from Meeker Street to State Avenue);
(from Fourth Avenue to Central Avenue);
(from Smith Street to Titus Street);
(from Harrison Street to Saar Street);
F. Railroad Avenue (from James Street to Titus Street);
G. State Avenue (from Smith Street to Gowe Street).

Section 4. Section 10.06.170 of the Kent City Code is

amended as follows:
!; 10.06.170. PENALTY FOR VIOLATION OF SECTIONS 10.06.120,
10.06.140 10.06.150 paD 10.06.160 10.06.230 AND 10.06.240. Any
;violation of Sections 10.06.120, 10.06.140, 10.06.150 AM
110.06.160, 10.06.230 and 10.06.240 shall be an infraction and
punishable by a monetary penalty of not more than twenty-five
dollars; provided, however, that for any person not requesting a
mitigation hearing or contested hearing for any violation under
Sections 10.06.120, 10.06.140 and 10.06.150 of this Chapter, the
!' penalty shall be five dollars.
Section 5. Effective Date. This ordinance shall take
effect and be in force five (5) days from and after its passage,
approval and publication as provided by law.
