ORDINANCE NO. a6%�
AN ORDINANCE of the City of Kent, Washington relating to
utilities; adding a new section KCC 7.02.200 discontinuing the
Kent garbage utility, effective January 1, 1987.
Section 1. A new section KCC 7.02.200 is hereby added as
follows:
NEW SECTION.
KCC 7.02.200. Garbage utility discontinued. The
provisions of KCC 7.02.040, KCC 7.02.080, and KCC
7.02.160 shall have no force and effect and have no
application to operation of a garbage utility or to
the provision of garbage and refuse collection and
disposal by the City of kent, its contractors or
agents, a WUTC certified hauler, or other person,
firm or corporation on or after December 31, 1986;
PROVIDED, HOWEVER, that the City shall retain all
rights to collect and enforce fees and charges, and
delinquent fees and charges for garbage service
provided on or before December 31, 1986. KCC
7.02.040, KCC 7.02.080 and KCC 7.02.160 shall retain
full force and effect for utility service for water,
sewer and storm drainage.
Section 2.
Pursuant to RCW 35.21.120 and RCW 35.67.020, the City of
Kent may and reserves the right to, reestablish a City of Kent
system and plant for garbage and refuse collection and disposal,
and to combine a system and plant for garbage and refuse collec-
tion and disposal into the system of sewerage provided for in
KCC 7.03.010.
Section 3. No vested rights shall be created by this
ordinance.
Section 4. This ordinance shall take effect and be in
force five (5) days from and after its pa age, approval and
publication as provided by 1
