AN ORDINANCE of the City of Kent,
Washington, relating to planning and property;
x rezoning approximately 8.81 acres located
-? between 54th Avenue South and 64th Avenue
South, adjacent to the southerly boundary of
the Puget Sound Power and Light Company
right-of-way, all within the City of Kent, from
MA, Industrial Agricultural, to M1, Industrial

THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KENT, WASHINGTON, DOES
HEREBY ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Recitals.
1.1 An application for rezone of approximately 8.81
acres was filed on February 15, 1985 for the property described in
Exhibit A attached hereto and incorporated herein by this
reference.
1.2 The rezone is numbered RZ-85-3 and concerns the
request of Upland Industries Corporation to reclassify the
described property from MA, Industrial Agricultural, to M1,
Industrial Park.
1.3 A DECLARATION OF NONSIGNIFICANCE was filed by the
Planning Department on February 28, 1985.
1.4 The Hearing Examiner conducted a public hearing on
May 1, 1985.
1.5 The Hearing Examiner issued her FINDINGS AND
RECOMMENDATION on May 15, 1985.
1.6 The Kent City Council approved by motion the rezone
on June 3, 1985, and directed the preparation of this ordinance.
Section 2. The FINDINGS AND RECOMMENDATION OF THE
HEARING EXAMINER in No. RZ-85-3 and dated May 15, 1985 are hereby
adopted as the FINDINGS of the City of Kent.

Section 3. Rezone. Approximately 8.81 acres located
between 54th Avenue South and 64th Avenue South lying adjacent to
the southerly boundary of the Puget Sound Power and Light Company
right-of-way, and more particularly described in Exhibit A
attached 'hereto and incorporated herein by this reference, are
hereby rezoned to Ml, Industrial Park.
Section 4. The Planning Director of the City of Kent be
and he is hereby authorized and directed to indicate upon the
Comprehensive Zoning Map of the City of Kent or upon an addendum
thereto, the zoning of said property as provided for in Section 3
of this ordinance.
Section 5. That upon said amendment being shown upon the
Comprehensive Zoning Map of the City of Kent, or upon an addendum
thereto, the copy of said map or addendum shall be filed with the
Director of Records and Elections of King County, Washington, and
the City Clerk of the City of Kent is hereby authorized and
directed to record this ordinance with the County Auditor of King
County and to pay the filing fee therefor.
Section 6. Effective Date. This ordinance shall take
effect and be in force five (5) days from and after its passage,
approval and publication as provided by law.

and described as follows:
Beginning at the south quarter corner of said Section

Commencing at the north quarter corner of said Sec-
tion 14;
thence along the north line of said Section, North
88 degrees 59 minutes 21 seconds West, 720.32 feet to a point
on the east line of the David A. Neely Donation Land Claim;
thence along the east line of said Donation Land Claim,
South 01 degree 05 minutes 47 seconds West, 29.66 feet to the
TRUE POINT OF BEGINNING;
thence continuing along said east line, South 01 degree
05 minutes 47 seconds West, 119.66 feet to the southeast corner
of that certain parcel of land conveyed to Puget Sound Power i
Light Company by Correction Statutory Warranty Deed dated June is
1962, recorded under Auditor's File No. 5436672, records of said
County;
thence along the south line of said deeded parcel,

point of cusp with a curve, concave northerly, to which point
