AN ORDINANCE of the City of Kent,
Washington relating to Worker's Compensation;
amending Section 2.43. -I -2 -Kent City Code
(Section 3, Ordinance 2166) to authorize the
indemnification of the City's surety company.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KENT, WASHINGTON DOES
HEREBY ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Section 2.43:+2 Kent City Code (Ordinance
2166, Section 3) is hereby amended to read as follows:
2.43.+-2-- SURETY BOND REQUIRED. The City Administrator or
his designee is authorized and directed to execute, on behalf of
the City, a surety bond written by a company admitted to transact
surety business in the State of Washington, in such amount and
such form as may be required by the Director of the Department of
Labor and Industries in accordance with RCW 51.14. An agreement
,providing for indemnification of the surety may be executed by the
City Administrator.
Section 2. Any act consistent with the authority and
prior to the effective date of this ordinance is hereby ratified
and confirmed.
Section 3. Effective Date. This ordinance shall take
effect and be in force five (5) days from and after its passage,
approval and publication as provided by law.
