AN ORDINANCE of the City Council of the City
of Kent, Washington, amending Chapter 4.02 of the Kent
City Code entitled "Arts Commission" by amending
section 4.02.030 relating to membership of the City Arts
Commission by establishing requirements for appointment
to the commission.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
KENT, WASHINGTON, DOES HEREBY ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1: - Chapter 4.02 of the Kent City Code entitled "Arts
Commission" is hereby amended by amending section 4.02.030 as follows:
See. 4.02.030. Membership; term. The membership of the city arts
commission shall be twelve (12) members to be appointed by the mayor with the
approval of the city council.

In addition to the twelve (12) appointed members, one (1) member of the city council
shall be designated by the president of the city council to serve as an ex -officio member
of the arts commission.
SECTION 2. - Severability. If any one or more sections, subsections,
sentences of this Ordinance are held to be unconstitutional or invalid, such

shall not affect the validity of the remaining portion of this Ordinance and the
shall remain in full force and effect.
SECTION 3. - Effective Date. This ordinance shall take effect and be
force thirty (30) days from and after its passage, approval and publication as provided
law.
