AN ORDINANCE of the City of Kent, Washington,
amending Chapter 2.01 of the Kent City Code relating to
salaries.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KENT, WASHINGTON, DOES
HEREBY ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION]. Section 2.01.010(A) is hereby amended as follows:
Sec. 2.01.010. Compensation of council members.
A. Pursuant This subsection is subject to the provisions of RCW 35A.12. 070. eEach
council member shall be paid a salary of five hundred fifty dollars ($550.00) per month.

a salary of one thousand dollars ($1000.00) per month. The duly elected president
city council shall be paid an additional salary of one hundred fifty dollars ($1
$150.00) per month in addition to the regular council member salary.
SECTION 2. Severability. If any section, sentence, clause or phrase of this
ordinance should be held to be invalid or unconstitutional by a court of competent

jurisdiction, such invalidity or unconstitutionality shall not affect the validity or
constitutionality of any other section, sentence, clause or phrase of this ordinance.
SECTION 3. Effective Date. This ordinance shall take effect and be in
force five (5) days from and after its passage, apprpw,� and publication as provided by law.
