AN ORDINANCE of the City Council of the City
of Kent, Washington, changing the time of the August 7,
2001, City Council meeting from 7:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2.01.020 of the Kent City Code, the
currently established time and date for regular council meetings of the City Council are
the first and third Tuesday of each month at 7:00 p.m.; and
WHEREAS, National Night Out is an important function council
members wish to attend; and
WHEREAS, National Night Out is scheduled to occur on August 7, 2001,
during the time of the City Council's meeting; and
WHEREAS, by scheduling the regular council meeting on that date to
5:00 p.m., instead of 7:00 p.m., council members will have an opportunity to participate
in National Night Out; NOW THEREFORE
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KENT, WASHINGTON,
DOES HEREBY ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
1 City Council Meeting Schedule
For August 7, 2001
SECTION 1. The time of the regularly scheduled council meeting for
August 7, 2001, is changed from 7:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. effective only for this council
meeting. Except to the extent it affects the City Council's August 7, 2001, meeting, this
ordinance does not amend Section 2.01.020 of the Kent City Code.
SECTION 2. Severability. If any one or more sections, subsections, or
sentences of this Ordinance are held to be unconstitutional or invalid, such decision shall
not affect the validity of the remaining portion of this Ordinance and the same shall
remain in full force and effect.
SECTION 3. Effective Date. This Ordinance shall take effect and be in
