HomeMy WebLinkAbout609CITY OF FENT, WASHINGTON RESOLUTION NO. ~9 A RESOLUTION of the City Council of the City of Kent, Washington, declaring its intention to improve South 212th Street beginning at the East Valley Highway and proceeding east to 104th Street by constructing four 12' traffic lanes with curb ~d gutter and storm drainage and channelization and to create a local improvement district to ~sess a part of the cost and ex- pense of carrying out such improvement against the property specially benefited thereby; and notifying all persons who desire to object to the project to appear and present their objec- tions at a meeting of fue City Council to be held on 0£ctf'Ptizc4 )t;, tftf 7 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KENT, WASHINGTON,,as follows: Section 1. It is the intention of the Council of the City of Kent, Washington, to order the improvement of the following described property within the City of Kent, Washington, in conjunc- tion with King County, Washington: Those portions of Government Lots 1 and 2, and of the East half ~ the Northwest quarter of Section 7, Township 22 North, Range 5 East, W.M., in King County, Washington, described as follows: commencing at the West quarter corner of said Section 7 and running thence North along the West line of said Section, 797.62 feet to the point of beginning; Thence North ffi 0 42' East 1741.44 feet, more or less, to the centerline of a 20 foot drain- age ditch right-of-way; Thence South ~26' West along said centerline, 30.09 feet; Thence North 82°34'10" East 744.79 feet, more or less, to a point on the East line of said Southeast quarter of fue Northwest quarter, which is 849.42 feet North of the Southeast corner of said subdivision; Thence North along said East line to its inter- section with a line parallel with and 660.00 feet North of, as measured at right angles to, the North line of fue South half of said Northwest quarter; Thence Westerly along said parallel line to the West of said Section 7; Thence Southerly ~ong said West line to a point which is 797.62 feet North of the West quarter cor- ner of said ~ction 7 and the Point of Beginning; by the improvement of South 212th Street (Phase III) commencing at the East Valley Highway md proceeding easterly over the East Valley Freeway and then turning northeast to tie onto 208th Street and end- ing at 104th Street by constructing four 12' traffic lanes with curb and gutter and storm drainage with channelization for the East Valley Highway and 104th Street and continuous channelization on the City's portion. All of the foregoing shall be in accordance with the plans and specifications therefor trepared by Hill, Ingman, Chase & Co., consulting engineers to the City. Section 2. The total estimated cost and expense of said improvement is declared to be $1,510,850.00. The estimated cost and expense of the City's portion is declared to be $647,350.00 with the balance of such cost and expense to be borne by King County. Not to exceed $53,700.00 of the City's portion of the cost and expense of said improvement shall be borne by and assessed against the property specially benefited by such improvement to be included in a local im- provement district to be established embracing as near as may be all property specially benefited by such improvement. The balance of the City's portion of the cost and expense of the improvement shall be paid from urban arterial funds anticipated to be received from the State of Washington and a federal grant from the Economic Development Administration. Section 3. All persons who may desire to object to the im- provement herein described are hereby notified to appear and present such objections at a meeting of fue City Council to be held in the Council Chambers in the City Hall, Kent, Washington, p.m. (PST), on t!J£cl{'111 £eA 1,1 Jf'~ , which time and at f': o'clock place are hereby fixed for hearing all matters relating to the proposed improvement, and all objections fuereto, and for determining the method of payment for that improvement. -2- Section 4.
