RESOLUTION NO. _5 g-f'
A RESOLUTION of the City of Kent, Washing-
ton, authorizing application for funding ·
assistance for· an outdoor recreation project
to the Interagency Committee for Outdoor
Recreation, as provided by the Marine Recrea-
tion Land Act and the $10,000,000.00 Outdoor
Recreation Bond Issue of 1964.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Kent, Washingto ,
has approved a "Comprehensive Park and Recreation Plan 11 for the
urban area, which identifies a community park in Mill Creek Canyon
in the City of Kent, Washington, as top priority; and
WHEREAS, under the provisions of the Marine Recreation
Land Act and the $10,000,000.00 Outdoor Recreation Bond Issue of
1964, State and Federal fundi!lg assistance has· been authorized
and made available to aid in financing the cost of land for parks
and the construction of outdoor recreation facilities of local
public bodies; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Kent, Washingto ,
considers it in the best public interest to acquire a community
park in said Mill Creek Canyon within the City of Kent, Washington,
generally located in the lower (the mouth) ten-acres of Mill
Creek Canyon, in Section 19, Township 22,Range 5 E., W.M., King
County, Washington,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of Kent, Washington:
(l) That the Mayor be authorized to make formal applica
25 tion to the Interagency Committee for Outdoor Recreation for fund
26 assistance;
27 (2) That any fund assistance so received be used in
28 the acquisition of ten (l~ acres of land in the Mill Creek Canyon,
29 within the City of Kent, Washi!lgton;
30 (3) That any property acquired with financial aid
31 through the Interagency Committee for Outdoor Recreation be placed

1 1n use as an outdoor recreation facility and be retained in such
2 use in perpetuity unless as otherwise provided and ~greed to by
3 the City Council, the Interagency Committee for Outdoor Recreation,
4 and any affected federal ~gency, and
5 (4) That this Resolution become part of a formal
6 . application to the Inter?-gency Committee for Outdoor Recreation.
