A RESOLUTION of the City Council of the
City of Kent I Washington I declaring its
intention to improve South 212th Street from
the West Valley Highway to the East Valley
Highway by constructing and installing
asphaltic concrete pavement of a variable
width from 60 to 72 feet with concrete curbs
and gutters and drainage facilties and to
create a local improvement district to assess
a part of the cost and expense of carrying out
such improvement against the property specially
benefited thereby; and notifying all persons who
desire to object to the project to appear and
present their objections at a meeting of the
City Council to be held on March 20 1 1967.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
KENT 1 WASHINGTON 1 as follows:
Section l. It is the intention of the Council of the City of
Kent 1 Washington 1 to order the improvement of the following described
property within the City of Kent 1 Washington:
Beginning at the Northwest comer of the S/2 of the N/2
of the N/2 of Section 12 I Township 22 North, R 4 E W. M.,
King County 1 Washington;.
Thence easterly along the north line of said subdivision
to the east line of said Section 12;
Thence southerly along the said east line to the southeast
comer of the N/2 of the S/2 of the N/2 of said Section 12;
Thence westerly along the south line of said subdivision
to the west line of said Section 12;
Thence northerly along the said west line to the Point of
Beginning.
by the improvement of South 212th Street from the East Va:lley Highway to the
West Valley Highway by the construction and installation of asphaltic
concrete pavement of a variable width of 60 to 72 feet with concrete curbs
and gutters and drainage facilities. All of the foregoing shall be in accordance
with the plans and specifications therefor prepared by Hill & Ingman,
consulting engineers to the City.
Section 2. Not to exceed $190,000.00 of the cost and
expense of said improvement shall be borne by and assessed against the
property specially benefited by such improvement to be included in a local
improvE?ment district to be established embracing as near as may be all
property specially benefited by such improvement. Approximately $377,000.00
of the cost and expense of the improvement shall be paid from a grant
anticipated to be received from the Economic Development Administration of
the United States Department of Commerce, pursuant to the Public Works and
Economic Development Act of 1965 (P.O. 89-136) Project# 07-l-00100, The
Offer of Grant being made May 24, 1966, and duly accepted by the City on
June 2, 1966 • The balance of the cost and expense of the improvement shall
be paid from the proceeds received from the issuance and sale of "General
!I Obligation Bonds, 1966, of the City, issued as of December 1, 1966,
pursuant to Ordinance No. 1384 of the City and/or from such other funds of
the city as may be available therefor.
Section 3. All persons who may desire to object to the
improvement herein described are hereby notified to appear and present such
objections at a meeting of the City Council to be held in the Council
Chambers in the City Hall, Kent I Washington I at 8:00 p.m. I on March 20 I 1967 r
which time and place are hereby fixed for hearing all matters relating to the
proposed improvement, and all objections thereto, and for determining the
method of payment for that improvement.
Section 4. Hill & Ingman, consulting engineers I are hereby
directed to submit to the City Council on or prior to the 20th day of March, 1967 1
all data and information required by law to be submitted.
The foregoing resolution was ADOPTED by the City Council of
the City of Kent I Washington, at a regular meeting thereof this 20th day of
