RESOLUTION NO. '-f 8:7-------
WHEREAS, there was filed with the City Clerk of the City of
Kent at 1:00 P.M. on the 9th day of November, 1962, a petition
signed by the owners of not less than 10% in value according to
the assessed valuation for general taxation of certain properties
therein described, notifying the City of the intention of said
petitioners to seek annexation of said property to the City; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to said petition, and to law, the City Counc 1
;did on the 19th day of November, 1962, set the 3rd day of December,
1962, at the hour of 7:00 o'clock P.M., in the Council Chambers
of the City Hall in Kent, Washingttn, as the time and place for a

li meeting of said petitioners with the City Council to discuss said
li proposal for annexation; and

WHEREAS, notice thereof was given by the City to said petition rs
jby United States mail, postage prepaid; and

! WHEREAS, at said date, time and place a meeting was held, thos
present being the Mayor of the City and a majority of the City
Council representing the City, and representatives of the peti tione s.
and some objectors;
WHEREAS, the City Council of the eity of Kent has fully consid
ered the proposal of said petitioners, now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Kent in
regular meeting assembled:
1. That the annexation proposed by the initiating petition
of Robert Hansen and others, filed with the City Clerk on the 9th
day of November, 1962, at 1:00 o'clock P.M., will be entertained
y the City of Kent; that the City will require the assumption of
xisting general bonded indebtedness of the City by the area
reposed to be annexed.
2. Be it further resolved that the aty Clerk is authorized
nd directed to notify said petitioners in writing by United
tates mail, postage prepaid, qf the action of the Council upon

3. That the final petition for annexation of said property
circulated by the petitioners and to be filed wlth the City of
Kent shall state therein the provisions of this resolution relati
to the assumptbn of general bonded indebtednss by the property in
the area proposed to be annexed.
PASSED at a regular meeting of the City Council and approved
by the Mayor on the 17th day of December, 1962.
