RESOLUTION NO. ¥7 i.f
wHEREAS~ there was filed with the City Clerk of the City of
Kent, at 11:20 a. m., on the 7th day of May, 1962, a petition
signed by the owners of not less than lO;b in value according to
the assessed valuation for general taxation of certain properties
therein described, notifying the City of the intention of said
petitioners to seek annexation of said properties, and
WHEREAS, the petitLoners were Lester R. Maxfield, Arnold Evans,
Thomas D. Monstad, and the First Presbyterian Church of Kent; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to said petition and to law, the City Council
did_, on the 7th day of May_,l962, set the 21st day of May, 1962,
at the hour of 7:00 o'clock ?.M._, in the Council Chambers of
the City Hall in Kent, washlngton, as the time and place for a
meeting of said petitioners with the City Council to discuss said
proposal for annexation; and
WHEREAS_, notice thereof was given by the City to said petitioner
by United States mail, postage prepaidj and
WHEREAS, at said date_, time and place the meeting was held, thos
present being the Mayor and the memoers of the City Council of the
City of Kent, and Arnold Evans_, Lester Maxfield,and Norwood Cun-
ningham representing the First Presbyterian Church_, one of the
petitioners; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Kent has fully consider d
the proposal of said petitioners, now, therefore_,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KENT in regula
meeting assembled:
1. That the annexation proposed by the initiating petition of
Lester R. Maxfiled and others, filed with the City Clerk on the
7th day of May, 1962, will be entertained by the City of Kent;
that the City will require the assumption of existing general
bonded indebtedness of the City 0' the area proposed to be annexed.
2. Be it further resolved that the City Clerk is authorized and
directed to notify said petitioners in writing, by United States
mail, postage prepaid, of the action of the Council upon their
etition.
3. That the final petition for annexation of said property

circulated by the petitioners and to be filed with the City of
Kent shall state therein the provisions of this resolution
to the assumption of general indebtedness by the owners of propert
in the area proposed to be annexed.
PASSED at the regular meeting of the City Council and approved
by the Mayor on the 4th day--
