A RESOLUTION of the City Council
of the City of Kent, Washington, declaring
its intention to improve a part of the City
by the construction and installation of as-
phaltic concrete surface on 104th Avenue
South East to provide four (4) through traf-
fic lanes with a fifth (5th) lane to provide
a two-way left turn lane and channelization,
together with the construction and installa-
tion of curbs and gutters, sidewalks, storm
drains, illumination and underground power;
and to create a Local Improvement District
to assess the cost and expense of carrying
out such improvement against the properties
specially benefited thereby; and notifying
all persons who desire to object to the pro-
ject to appear and present their objections
at a meeting of the City Council to be held
on January 17, 1977.
BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Kent,
Washington, as follows:
Section 1. It is the intention of the Council of the
City of Kent, Washington, to order the improvement of the property
within the City of Kent, Washington described in Exhibit A, attach-
ed hereto and by this reference made a part hereof, ~y the con-
struction and installation of asphaltic concrete surface on 104th
Avenue South East to provide four (4) through traffic lanes with
a fifth (5th) lane to provide a two-way left turn lane and chan-
nelization, together with the construction and installation of curbs
and gutters, sidewalks, storm drains, illumination and underground
power.
Section 2. The total estimated cost and expense of the
improvement is declared to be SEVEN HUNDRED, EIGHTY-SIX THOUSAND,
TWO HUNDRED SIXTY-NINE ($786,269) DOLLARS. The City anticipates
receiving grants in the estimated amount of SIX HUNDRED NINETY-
TWO THOUSAND ($692,000) DOLLARS to pay part of the improvement and
anticipates that the City shall pay an additional part of the cost
of the improvement from other monies available for that purpose,
the amount thereof to be determined at the time the Ordinance order-
ing the improvement is adopted. The balance of the actual cost and
expense of the improvement (after applying the grants and the City's
payment, now estimated to be FORTY-SEVEN THOUSAND, ONE HUNDRED
THIRTY-FIVE ($47,135) DOLLARS, shall be borne by and assessed against
the properties specially benefited by such improvement to be in-
cluded in a Local Improvement District to be established embracing
as near as may be all properties specially benefited by such im-
provement.
Section 3. All persons who may desire to object to the
improvement herein described are hereby notified to appear and to
present such objections to the Kent City Council at the regular
meeting of January 17, 1977, at 8 o'clock p.m., in the City Council
Chambers at the Kent City Hall.
Section 4. The City Engineer is hereby directed to
submit to the City Council on or prior to January 17, 1977, all data
and information required by law to be submitted.
The foregoing Resolution was adopted by the City Council
of the City of Kent, Washington and approved by the Mayor at the
Regular Meeting thereof this 20th day of December, 1976.
