A RESOLUTION of the City of Kent, Washington
regarding the annexation to the City of an area
generally known as "Westview".
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Kent, Washington,
has determined after extensive study, analysis and hearings, that
it would be in the best interest and general welfare of the City of
Kent to annex certain unincorporated area contiguous to the City,
commonly known as "Westview", to the City of Kent, NOW, THEREFORE
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KENT, WASHINGTON, DO
HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
1. There shall be submitted to the electorate of that
certain unincorporated area contiguous to the City commonly known
as "Westview", the boundaries of which shall be set forth herein-
after, a proposal for annexation to the City of Kent.
2. The boundaries of the area proposed to be annexed
are generally South 208th Street on the north, the present City
Limit boundary on the west, South 220th Street on the South, and
on

the east, approximately 106th Avenue s. E. from s. E. 220th to
E. 216th, and approximately 104th s. E. from s. E. 216th to
E. 208th. The legal description of the property is as follows:
Those portions of Sections 7 and 8, Township 22
Norhh, Range 5, E.W.M. King County, Washington,
defined as follows: Beginning at the North common
corner of said Sections 7 and 8, being the true
point of beginning of property herein described;
thence East along the North line of said Section 8
to a point which lies 1316.87 feet East of the
Northwest corner thereof; thence South parallel
with the East line of the West half of the North-
west quarter of said Section 8 to a point which lies
548 feet South of the North line of said Section 8;
thence West parallel with the North line of said
Section 8 a distance of 38.95 feet more or less to
the East line of the West half of the Northwest
quarter of said Section 8; thence South along the

East line of said subdivision to the South line
thereof, also being the North line of Southwest
quarter of said Section 8; thence South along the
East line of the Northwest quarter of the Southwest
quarter of said Section 8 to the Southeast corner
of the Northwest quarter of the Southwest quarter
of said Section 8; thence West along the South line
of the Northwest quarter of the Southwest quarter
of said Section 8 to the Southwest corner of the
Northwest quarter of the Southwest quarter of said
Section 8 ALSO being the Southeast corner of the
North half of the Southeast quarter of said Section
7; thence West along the South line of the North
half of the Southeast quarter of said Section 7
to the West line of the East half of said Section
7, also being the Kent City limits (Ordinance No.
1006}; thence North along the West line of the East
half of said Section 7 and the Kent City Limits to
the North line of said Section 7; thence East along
the North line of said Section 7 to the true point
of beginning AND ALSO Mount View Park recorded in
Volume 67 of Plats Page 84, King County, Washington
and Mount View Park Division #2 recorded in Volume
75 of Plats, Page 43 records of King County, Wash-
ington, together with the South half of s. E. 216th
street adjoining said plat of Mountain View Park.
3. The election shall be conducted in accordance with
the provisions of RCW 35A.29 "Municipal Elections in Code Cities"
and any other applicable laws, with the City paying the cost of
the election.
4. The number of voters residing in the area as nearly
as may be determined is 762.
5. There shall also be submitted to the electorate the
territory sought to be annexed a proposition that all property
within the area annexed shall, upon annexation, be assessed and
taxed at the same rate and on the same basis as the property of
the City of Kent is assessed and taxed to pay for any then out-
standing indebtedness of the City of Kent contracted prior to,
or existing at, the date of annexation.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of Public
Works file a certified copy of this Resolution with the King
County Boundary Review Board as provided for in RCW 36.93.
