A RESOLUTION of the City Council of
the City of Kent, Washington appointing
the City's voting Delegate and Alternate
Delegate to the Puget Sound Governmental
Conference and establishing procedures
for the annual appointment of said Delegates.
WHEREAS, the Puget Sound Governmental Conference has
changed its organizational structure so that the City of Kent
now has an individual vote on Conference matters, and
WHEREAS, the amended by-laws of the Puget Sound
Governmental Conference provide that only the City of Kent's
duly appointed Delegate or Alternate may vote, and that said
Delegate shall be appointed by the City Council, and that notice
of such appointment shall be provided to the Puget Sound Govern-
mental Conference in writing, and
WHEREAS, the Kent City Council is desirous of having
a voting representative at all future Puget Sound Governmental
Conference meetings and is desirous of appointing said Delegates
for 1973 and establishing procedures for annual selection of
Delegates in future years, NOW,THEREFORE,
IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED:
Section 1. Mayor Isabel K. Hogan and City Administrator,
Joseph A. Street be and they are hereby appointed as Delegate and
Alternate Delegate respectively to the Puget Sound Governmental
Conference and are hereby designated as those individuals autho-
rized by the City of Kent to cast its vote on Conference matters.

Section 2. The appointments shall become effective
immediately upon passage of this Resolution and shall remain
in effect until the City Council has designated some other
person or persons to be the Delegate or Alternate Delegate to
the Conference and has communicated such change in writing to
the Conference.
Section 3. Commencing with the calendar year 1974,
the City Council shall annually review the appointment of a
Delegate and Alternate Delegate to the Conference. The matter
shall be brought on for consideration in the last workshop
session in each December and the appointment shall be formally
made at the Second Council Meeting in January.
Section 4. The appointment shall be made by motion
of the Council and shall require the affirmative votes of a
majority of the Council Members present at said Council Meeting.
Section 5. The City Clerk shall send a copy of this
Resolution to the Puget Sound Governmental Conference as a
written confirmation of the appointment of the above named
Delegates.
PASSED at a Regular Council Meeting this 5th day of
March, 1973.
