A RESOLUTION of the City Council of the
City of Kent, Washington, declaring its in-
tention to improve a part of the City by the
construction and installation of asphaltic
concrete surface on 84th Avenue South to pro-
vide four (4) through traffic lanes with a
fifth (5th) lane to provide a two-way left
turn lane and channelization and signaliza-
tion at South 212th Street and South 228th
Street, together with the construction and
installation of curbs and gutters, storm
drains, sidewalks, illumination and under-
ground power; and to create a Local Improve-
ment District to assess the cost and expense
of carrying out such improvement against the
properties specially benefited thereby; and
notifying all persons who desire to object
to the project to appear and present their ob-
jections at a meeting of the City Council to
be held on October 18, 1971.
BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Kent,
Washington as follows:
Section 1. It is the intention of the Council of the
City of Kent, Washington, to order the improvement of the property
within the City of Kent, Washington described in Exhibit A, attached
hereto and by this reference made a part hereof, by the construction
and installation of asphaltic concrete surface on 84th Avenue South
to provide four (4) through traffic lanes with a fifth (5th) lane
to provide a two-way left turn lane and the channelization and
signalization at South 212th Street and South 228th Street, together
with the construction and installation of curbs and gutters, storm
drains, sidewalks, illumination and underground power.
Section 2. The total estimated cost and expense of the
improvement is declared to be ONE MILLION, ONE HUNDRED TWENTY
THOUSAND, THREE HUNDRED (1,120,300) DOLLARS. The City anticipates

receiving grants in the estimated amount of NINE HUNDRED THIRTY-SIX
THOUSAND, FOUR HUNDRED (936,400) DOLLARS to pay part of the improve-
ment and anticipates that the City shall pay an additional part of
the cost of the improvement from other monies available for that
purpose, the amount thereof to be determined at the time the Ordi-
nance ordering the improvement is adopted. The balance of the actual
cost and expense of the improvement (after applying the grants and
the City's payment), now estimated to be EIGHTY SEVEN THOUSAND,
THREE HUNDRED (87,300) DOLLARS, shall be borne by and assessed
against the properties specially benefited by such improvement to
be included in a Local Improvement District to be established em-
bracing as near as may be all properties specially benefited by
such improvement.
Section 3. All persons who may desire to object to the
improvement herein described are hereby notified to appear and to
present such objections to the Kent City Council at a regular
meeting of October 18, 1971, at 7 o'clock p.m. (PDST), in the City
Council Chambers at the Kent City Hall.
Section 4. Hill, Ingman, Chase and Company, consulting
engineers, are hereby directed to submit to the City Council on or
prior to October 18th 1971, all data and information required by
law to be submitted.
The foregoing RESOLUTION was adopted by the City Council
of the City of Kent, Washington and approved by the Mayor at a
regular meeting thereof this 20th day of September, 1971.
