A RESOLUTION OF THE City of Kent, Washing-
ton, authorizing application for funding
assistance for an outdoor recreation project
to the Interagency Committee for Outdoor
Recreation, as provided by the Marine Recrea-
tion Land Act and the $10,000,000.00 Outdoor
Recreation Bond Issue of 1964.
WHEREAS, the City Counci I of the City of Kent, Wash-
ington, has approved a "Comprehensive Park and Recreation Plan"
for the urban area, which identifies a need for a neighborhood
park at Linda Heights in the City of Kent, Washington, as top
pr~ority; and
WHEREAS, under the provisions of the Marine Rec-
reation Land Act and the $10,000,000.00 Outdoor Recreation Bond
Issue of 1964, State and Federal funding assistance has been
authorized and made avai I able to aid in financing the cost of
land for parks and the construction of outdoor recreation
faci I ities of local public bodies; and
WHEREAS, the City Counci I of the City of Kent, Wash-
ington, considers it in the best public interest to acquire a
neighborhood park at Linda Heights within the City of Kent, Wash-1
ington, generally located on west hi I I area of Kent, in Section
22, Township 22, Range 4 E.W.M., King County, Washington,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Counci I
of the City of Kent, Washington:
(I) That the Mayor be authorized to make formal
26 application to the Interagency Committee for Outdoor Recreation
27 for fund assistance;

(2) That any fund assistance so received be used 1n
the acquisition of four and two-tenths acres of land on west
hi I I within the City of Kent, Washington;
(3) That any property acquired with financial aid

through the Interagency Committee for Outdoor Recreation be
placed in use as an outdoor recreation faci I ity and be retained
in such use in perpetuity unless as otherwise provided and
agreed to by the City Counci I, the Interagency Committee for
Outdoor Recreation, and any affected federal agency, and
(4) That this Resolution become part of a formal
application to the Interagency Committee for Outdoor Recreation.
ADOPTED by the City Counci I of the City of Kent,
Washington, at its regular meeting held June I, 1970.
Signed and approved by the Mayor and City Clerk of
the City of Kent, Washington, this 1st day of June, 1970.
