A RESOLUTION of the City Council of the
City of Kent, Washington, concerning annual
review of City regulatory processes; providing
for a public hearing and notice thereof.
WHEREAS, periodic review of the regulatory processes of
the City of Kent is in the public interest; and
WHEREAS, a special annual hearing should be set aside to
afford the public an opportunity to present comments and concerns
about the City's regulatory processes; and
WHEREAS, it is not the intent of the Council to preclude
regular public input concerning City affairs but to provide a
further opportunity for such public input; and
WHEREAS, the City Council considered such a proposed
hearing at its regularly scheduled workshop on June 25, 1984; NOW,
THEREFORE
~HE CITY COUNCIL OF ~HE CITY OF KENT, WASHINGTON DOES
HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The City Council shall annually conduct a
public hearing at a regular meeting of the Kent City Council to
receive comment and input from the public concerning the regula-
tory processes of the City of Kent.
Section 2. Notice of said public hearing shall be given
to the Kent Chamber of Commerce and other interested groups and
organizations not less than thirty days prior to the date set for
the public hearing. Further, at least thirty days but not less
than ten days prior to such hearing, there shall be published a
public notice setting forth the date, time and place of the
hearing at least once in a newspaper of general circulation in the
City of Kent. A news release pertaining to the hearing shall be
disseminated among printed and electronic media serving the City
of Kent.
Section 3. The first annual hearing as provided herein,
is hereby set for August 6, 1984.
