A RESOLUTION of the City Council of the
City of Kent, Washington, relating to the
City's Recycling Program and the intent to
establish a policy for in-house recycling for
City employees.
WHEREAS, the City Council has adopted the King County
Comprehensive Solid Waste Management Plan; and
WHEREAS, the City Council is committed to meeting the
recycling goals established by the Comprehensive Solid Waste
Management Plan; and
WHEREAS, the City Council recognizes that recycling of
office wastes is an important factor toward meeting those goals;
NOW, THEREFORE,
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KENT, WASHINGTON DOES
HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The City will establish an in-house recycling
program in which all City departments and employees will partici-
pate in the best manner possible.
Section 2. The City will provide an educational program
for its employees with regard to recyclable materials and will
provide the appropriate mechanisms to enable the employees to
participate.
Section 3. The program will be monitored to encourage
and insure participation.
