COUNCIL WORKSHOP MINUTES
April 3, 2001

The meeting was called to order by Chair Leona Orr at 5:07 PM.
Legislative Report
Chief Administrative Officer Brent McFall gave a legislative update, reporting that the Capital
side looked good and the bill that would approve supplemental funding for trust funds was
looking good. He said that Mayor White had carried the flag for transportation issues, but that
there still was no consensus. He provided a handout for Week 12 of the 2001 Legislative
Session.
Kent Station Developer Process
• Economic Developer Manager Jacki Skaught and Geoff Graham from Hunter Interests gave a
presentation on the process of selection of a developer for the Kent Station Project. On February
12`h, staff issued a Request for Qualifications and eight responses were received. The focus is
now on four mixed use developers. A Request for Proposals will be developed over the next 12
weeks, establishing the goals and objectives for the project, as well as timelines. Geoff Graham
noted that the quality of the work team would help realize the vision for the property, and Brent
McFall added that their financial wherewithal, understanding of mixed use and transit
development,the ability to work with the City, their experience, and the ability to stay for the
long haul would be important aspects of the successful candidates.
