The meeting was called to order by Chair Leona Orr at 5:02 PM.
Residential Street Standards Recommendation
City Engineer Gary Gill introduced Paul Lanspery who gave a follow-up to the November 161h
Council Meeting on emergency vehicle access,parking enforcement, fiscal impacts, landscaping
and maintenance, traffic calming, location of utilities, and flexibility of how standards impact
new subdivisions.
The issue was referred to the Public Works Committee for further discussion.
Civic and Performing Arts Center Presentation
• Parks Director John Hodgson, and Don Campbell and Chris Miller, Performing Arts Center,
gave a presentation outlining budget impacts and funding for the Civic and Performing Arts
Center and presenting details on the bond issue calculation. A copy of the ordinance was handed
out that would provide for a special election of the voters, in conjunction with the State primary
election, authorizing the City to incur indebtedness by issuing its general obligation bonds in a
par amount not to exceed $14,000,000. The money would be paid by annual property tax levies,
in excess of regular property tax levies, for the design, construction and equipping of a civic and
performing arts center. Mr. Hodgson said the item would go on the September ballot if
approved at that night's Council meeting.
The meeting adjourned at 6:25 PM.
