The meeting was called to order by Chair Leona Orr at 5:45 PM.
Update on Facilities/Space Study
Parks Director John Hodgson went over the changes and moves in the Centennial Center
building, saying things were going quicker than had been thought with a minimal impact on
staff. Fire Prevention was recently moved to the 4th Floor of Centennial, and the second floor is
being remodeled for the Public Works Department,which work should be completed in January,
2001. The third floor is being remodeled for a permanent home for Planning Services and will
house a temporary Permit Center until the first floor remodeling is finished. The Permit Center
will then move back and Customer Services will also move from City Hall to the first floor of
• Centennial. Employee Services will eventually move to the 41h Floor. The bid for the work for
the Development Services/Planning/Permit Center is $800,000. After the seismic study was
completed in City Hall, the original plan for infilling the second floor courtyard had to be
abandoned as the current building can't bear the weight.
Mr. Hodgson introduced the seismic analysis team of John Hooper,Pete Barlow, and Michael
Repka who answered questions and further explained the results of the study.
The meeting adjourned at 6:35 PM.
