The meeting was called to order by Chair Leona Orr at 5:06 PM.
Permit Center Progress Report
Deputy Chief Administrative Officer Mike Martin and Permit Center Manager Joe Mitchell gave
an update on the progress of the new Permit Center. Mr. Martin went over a number of concerns
highlighted in the1999 Zucker Report on how to improve interdepartmental communications,
and explained the strategies of change the Permit Center would undertake to bring about the
ultimate goals of the report. Mr. Mitchell added information on time frames,reorganizing
structure and staffing, and gave an update on the remodel. He said that by July or August, the
remodel should be complete and the Permit Center would move to the first floor of the
• Centennial Building.
e-Gov Strategy
Information Technology Director Marty Mulholland and Systems Division Manager Stan
Waldrop gave an update on the Technology Plan II,the J.D. Edwards System, PCs, software, and
the email and document imaging systems. Web Author Dan Meeker described how 20 cities in
the area were working together in an e-gov alliance.
Legislative Update
Chief Administrative Officer Brent McFall said the Blue Ribbon Commission's
recommendations had been drafted, and that the legislature appeared to be county oriented. He
talked about the Clark Lake Acquisition, Freight Mobility, and the I-695 backfrll.
The meeting adjourned at 6:22 PM.
