Council members Present: Albertson, Harmon, Higgins, and Thomas. Council
Member Ranniger arrived at 5:40 p.m,
The meeting was called to order at 5:30 p.m. by Council Member Raplee.
Intergovernmental Issues. Michelle Wilmot, Community and Public Affairs,
provided Council members with information on the redrawing of Legislative and
Congressional boundaries and asked for their input. She pointed out that there
is an open comment period through October 11. It was agreed that Council
members would funnel their comments through Les Thomas by email.
Envision Midway Update. Gloria Gould-Wessen of Planning Services gave
an update of the Envision Midway protect, including the Subarea Plan, Design
Guidelines, Development Regulations, and next steps. She responded to
questions relating to light rail routes and stations, zoning, timing and other
issues.
Executive Session re Property Negotiations — Kent City Center. CAO
Hodgson explained that the purpose of the Executive Session is to brief Council
members on a proposed agreement for the development of Kent City Center,
and said it should take approximately 25 minutes. The meeting then recessed
to Executive Session at 6.10 p.m.
The meeting reconvened and adjourned at 6:40 p.m.
