Kent City Council Workshop
November 14, 2012
Council Members Present: Albertson, Higgins, Perry, Ralph, Ranniger, Thomas
The special meeting was called to order at 5:35 p.m. by Council President Higgins.
Council member Perry had to leave at 6:00 p.m.
Questions from October 30 Workshop. Hodgson distributed copies of the
questions raised by the Council at the last workshop. Department directors
explained the answers provided on the handout, and responded to questions from
Council members.
The Council arrived at consensus on several of the issues, and Higgins said those
remaining will be discussed at the next workshop.
Budget Balancing Options. Hodgson provided copies of proposed budget options
and explained the handout. The group discussed various aspects of the proposal,
and Council asked that further information on some of the items be provided at the
next workshop
Next Steps. At the Council President's request, additional suggestions for con-
sideration at the next budget workshop were made. Higgins then summarized the
issues which will be covered at the November 17 workshop.
The meeting adjourned at 8:00 p.m.
