SEPTEMBER 21, 19oG
The September meeting of the Firemen's Pension Board was called to
order at 11s15 a.m. by Mayor Alex 1hornton. Prosenl :7 Board members
" Marie Jensen, Duffy Armstrong, James Smail and Don Bridge. It was
noted by the Mayor that he had received a letter from Fire Chief Foster
stating that Alvin Simms in currently employed )to ed by the Sires Sales - 23460
Pacific Highway South while on total disability from the Kent Fire Depart-
ment. Foster requested that he be examined by an outside physician to
determine if he is able to perform his duties as a firefighter.
It was noted that Simms could work in .such a job if he were out on pension,
but not while he is on full pay for disability.
The report of the Group Health D-Vr4c#,6r was read by the secretary at the
request of members. Discussion was had on the report of the physical he
had when he was hired and it was determined that these records were in the
Civil Service Commission files. Mayor Thornton moved for the secretary
to write to Simms requesting hire to appear before the board on September
27th at 11 :00 a.m. Armstrong seconded, motion carried.
Fireman Webster was present and advised the board that he" intended to file
an appeal to the boards decision to take him off pay while he is recovering
from surgery on his ankle. It was determined that the boards decision

There being no further business to come before the board, the meeting was
adjourned at 11 :45 a.m.
