` FIREMEN' S PENSION BOARD
May 15 , 1970
` Regular meeting of the Firemen 's Pension Board was
called to order at 11 : 30 a.m. by the Chairman Mayor
Hogan. . Present, Board Members : Mayor Hogan, Council
man Lee, City Clerk Jensen, Captain Bridge. Also
:
Present: Fire Chief Foster
i., The City Treasurer has reported receipt of $3, 604.33
constituting Kent ' s share of the refund on taxes on
" fire insurance premiums . The Treasurer has suggested
that these funds be invested in a savings and loan
` account so the money would be readily available if
needed for cash flow purposes. Lee so moved, Bridge
L seconded, motion carried .

The Secretary noted an omission from the March 18th

board meeting minutes. Bridge moved to amend the March
i , 18th minutes to include the following:
"It was pointed out that the Milliman & Robertson report
41 recommended that medical benefits to firemen be paid
from the Firemen ' s Relief & Pension Fund . Bridge moved
for the medical benefits and premiums to be paid from
I; the Firemen ' s Relief & Pension Fund . Lee seconded,
motion carried" .
It was noted that this will change the amounts of the
't Firemen ' s Pension Budget page as follows :
Doctor & Medical FROM $613 TO $5 , 513
Reserve FROM $229, 881 TO $224, 951
The total budget for Firemen ' s Pension is not changed.
.0 The $4, 900 budgeted in the Fire Department for Health &
Accident will, therefore, not be used for this purpose,
since the Pension Fund will be paying the benefits.
