Jansen noted that the City Treasurer had reported on the status of the Firemen's
Relief & Pension Fund as follows: Cash on hand $ 1 ,674, 95
Investments . . 216,721 .21

Wink); referred tot6ie minutes of the meeting of July 11 , 1975, wherein it was
determined that Deputy Chief Freelove would compllc a r9port describing the
entire scope of the proposed physical f1No5s program, the foIlow-up procedures
of the stress test , the neco;sity of retesting, the action to be taken as a
result of the outcome of the examinations; etc„ 11 was determined that Freelovo
:Mould be reminded to compile the rrnu 0cd information.
-- Opel noted that the stress tests were now being given at the Kent Medical Center
Orndorff opined that the program was valuable and that 1-he city should negotiate
with the Kent Medical Center for future testing. He stated that the agreed upon
price of approximately 665 per man would offset the cost of the machine, and that
subsequent testing on this machine could,. Therefore be done for Ir Y than This
amount, He noted further that as soon as everyone had taken the stress test the
physical fline-s program would start . Opel & Orndorff expressed concern over what
earn ,ea of action would be taken If a fireman was not physically fit to perform his
duiins, and if LEFF had the authority 90 tell a fireman that by must qo on din--
abIlity. Street stated that this was a question for the City Attorney, OrndorfI
opined that the Pension Board should i eaelve periodic reports relative to the
physical fitness program,
Webster & Randall It was pointed out that the City Attorney had cat erminerr
thatr'etirgd firemen Glen Wuhster and Gale Randall had trot been enk 1tled to
payments they had received from the Firemen', Pension Fund. Payments were made
to the two to cover the Increase iii afary for Jan, Feb & March, since I EFF does
notg!v . Increases a i11 April each year . City Attorney Mirk has determined that
these payments were incorrreel Insomuch as neither Webster nor Randall were retire(.!
