January 18, 1994
PRESENT: Boardmembers White, Houser and Berg, City Attorney
Lubovich, Acting Finance Director Miller and Deputy City Clerk
Swaw.
Mayor White called the meeting to order.
Approval of Minutes. Berg moved to approve the minutes of
December 7, 1993, as published. Houser seconded and the motion
carried.
Approval of Financial Transactions. Miller asked that this item be
deferred to the next meeting. It was noted that this Board
normally meets on the first Tuesday of each month, but that Council
committees for 1994 will not have been determined by then, and
Houser may no longer be on the Board. It was therefore agreed that
the next meeting will be held on February 15.
Actuarial study - Cost Figures. Miller stated that an actuarial
study is required every four years and that a proposal has been
received from Milliman & Robertson, who have done the City's
actuarial studies in the past. She noted that their base fee is
$2,500, plus $20 per member. She explained that the study would
include a medical study and long term care evaluation if desired.
She added that funds are available in the budget and that the cost
is not to exceed $8,000. She and Berg clarified that this is
funded by interest income and a percentage of fire insurance
premiums.
Houser moved to proceed with the actuarial study in an amount not
to exceed $8,000. Berg seconded and the motion carried.
The meeting was adjourned at 5:50 p.m.
