Firemen's Relief & Pension Board
January 7, 1998
Boardmembers Present: Mary Berg, Sam Grubbs, and
Donna Swaw, Acting City Clerk
Others Present: Laurie Murray - Finance Department
The meeting was called to order at 9: 15 a.m.
Approval of Financial Transactions. Murray provided the
financial report for the month ending November. She also
included the schedule of assets and liabilities, revenues and
expenditures, and the changes in cash flows for the month of
November.
Grubbs moved to approve the November financial transactions.
Berg seconded and the motion carried.
Other Business. Murray distributed a draft schedule of the
January 1, 1998 COLA amounts that has been prepared by Brigitte
Hoopes but noted that one figure is still needed before it can be
finalized. She suggested that a special meeting be held to
approve it and that she will notify the City Clerk as soon as
possible when the figure is ready. Murray explained that this
figure will be final by the January 20th paycheck and will not be
in a retro situation.
Berg noted that the election for the boardmember can wait until
February. He also mentioned that the actuarial study can wait
until March but is due this year.
Adjournment. There was no further business to come before the
board and the meeting adjourned at 9:24 a.m.
